This recipe is about how to make Tomato rice, which is a very popular, quick and easy variety rice recipe. It can enjoyed with simple raita, pappadam and vadagam. This can be prepared in minutes. Make sure to use fully ripe red tomatoes which can give a beautiful colour and taste to this recipe. This recipe is tangy and very delicious in taste with bit of a ghee flavour make us very tempting. Kids will bring back their lunch box empty, also good for any occasion and any part of the meal.

Ingredients For Tomato Rice

Gingelly oil – 3 Tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 1/2 tsp
Channa dal – 1 Tbsp
Urad Dal – 3/4 Tbsp
Fennel seeds – 1 Tsp
Red Chillies – 4 No’s
Garlic – 7 – 8 pieces
Ginger – 1 piece
Onion – 1 1/2 No’s
Curry leaves – 2 Sprigs
Tomato – 4 No’s
Turmeric powder – 1/4 Tsp
Chilli powder – 3/4 Tbsp
Salt – To Taste
Chopped coriander – 1/2 Handful
Ghee – 1 1/2 Tbsp
Cooked Raw rice – 5 cups
