This recipe is about lemon flavoured rice popularly known as lemon rice. Very popular dish widely in South India. It is basically prepared by mixing steamed rice with a special flavour and seasoning called Gojju / Thalippu / Oggarane / baghar. This rice also called as chitrannam / nimmakaya pulihora. This rice is good for any occasion, easy to prepare and delicious. It is also good for kids lunch box and travelling. It can go very well with spicy dry potato preparation, thukaiyal and pappadam.

Ingredients For Lemon Rice

Cooked Raw Rice – 6 Cups
Red Chillies – 6 No’s
Mustard – 1 Tsp
Channa Dal – 1/2 Tsp
Urad Dal – 1/4 Tsp
Curry leaves – 2 Sprigs
Hing – 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 1/4 Tsp
Salt – To Taste
Lemon – 2 – 3 No’s
Ginger- 2 pieces
Green chillies – 5 No’s
Fried pappadam – 6 No’s
