Ghee rice is packed with awesome flavours . Typically mentioned as Nei Choru or Nei Sadam which literally translated to ghee rice or Ghee pulao. In Tamil Ghee is called Nei, choru or sadan is refereed to rice. It is an excellent accomplishment with Nihari, Paya, mutton curry, chicken Kurma, Salan and raita. It is a very popular dish in southern Tamil Nadu and servers in various functions. Using jeera Samba rice and home made clarified butter (ghee) in this recipe, makes it even more tastier and tempting.

Ingredients For Ghee Rice

Seeraga Samba Rice – 2 cups
Onion – 1 1/2 No
Ghee – 3 Tbsp
Cardamom – 4
Cloves – 6
Cinnamon – 3
Bay leaves – 2
Green Chillies – 4 no’s
Soaked Cashews – 10 to 12 No’s
Mint & Coriander – 1 2 sprigs
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 1/4 Tbsp
Tomato – 1
Salt – To Taste
