This video is about a famous South Indian style bitter gourd fry called pavakkai Varuval. The bitter guard represents the bitter taste which is one of the 6 tastes in auyurveda and siddha medicine. The bitter guard helps to lower the blood sugar level which also got lots of nutrients and other medicinal benefits. It’s a very simple, taste slightly bitter which is must intake dish at least twice a month.

Ingredients:

Bitter guard – 2 no’s
Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Chilli powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
Besan flour – 1 1/2 tbsp
Rice flour – 1 tbsp
Oil – for frying
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
