This video is about spicy and robust onion and tomato based, one variation of Kara Chutney. It is very simple to make at the same time very tasty. Goes very well with idly, Dosa and appam etc. Adding the tempering at the end the process of Chutney which make it very interesting in taste, make sure not to grind them too fine.

Ingredients For Kara Chutney

Shallots – 20- 30 No’s
Garlic – 10-12 pods
Red Chillies – 12 -15 No’s
Curry Leaves – 1 spring
Salt – To Taste
Roasted channa Dal – 1 Tbsp

Tempering

Mustard – 1 Tsp
Urad Dal – 1 Tsp
Hing – 1/2 Tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
