This video is about fresh ground coconut chutney which is very popular accompaniment to a variety of South Indian traditional breakfast and snacks. This Chutney typically served with Idly, Dosa ,Vada ,Pongal etc. This recipe is very easy and simple to make . It can be varied with adding garlic, red chillies,mint and coriander.This Chutney must be consumed with in two hours .

Ingredients For Coconut Chutney

Coconut ( freshly grated) – 2 cups
Green chillies – 8 No’s
Roasted Channa dal – 2 Tbsp
Ginger – 2 small pieces
Salt – To Taste
Tempering
Mustard- 1/4 Tsp
Urad Dal – 1/4 Tsp
Asafoetida – 1 Pinch
Curry leaves – 1 spring
