This video is about a very famous evening time snack from south India called Bangla. It’s a typical village grandmother style, household dish. Which only requires two major ingredients. It doesn’t need any accompaniment because it’s very tasty by it’s self. A Bangla is the original name for a palace, this snack was maybe prepared in very rich houses (bungalow) to get this name for this snack.

Idly rice – 2 cups
Toor dhal – 3/4 cups
Shallots – 20 to 25 no’s
Curry leaves – 3 sprig
Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
Hing – 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Oil – for frying
