This video is about a village style simple and tasty using spinach dish called passali keerai masiyal. This dish can be prepared with simple household ingredients and also it can be prepared with any other greens like siru keerai, arai keerai, ponnakannei keerai, paruppu keerai and mana thakali. It’s generally tempered with vadagam in villages it can also be tempered with red chilli, mustard, urad dhal, cumin seed and curry leaves. It’s served with nice hot steam rice.

Passali keerai ( spinach ) – 2 bunches
Shallots – 12 to 15 no’s
Tomato – 1 no
Green chillies – 3 no’s
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1 1/4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Tamarind – one betel nut size


Red chillies – 2 no’s
Vadagam ( tempering spices ) – 2 marble size
Curry leaf – 2 sprig
Gingerly oil – 35 ml
